2R is a cantopop group in Hong Kong. The group consists of Race Wong and Rosanne Wong, two sisters raised in Singapore. Rosanne is the oldest sister.

They have a dedicated fan base and their recent albums, “2R Revolution” and "2R New + Best Selection", have been reasonably successful. The motion picture “Ab-Normal Beauty” (死亡寫真) starring the two sisters also earned Race Wong a “Best New Actor nomination" at the Hong Kong Film Award and Golden Horse Award.

Biography

Both of them were born in Malaysia but moved to Singapore with their family at very early ages. Rosanne was born on June 30, 1979, while Race was born on September 7, 1982. Before entering show business, they studied together at Fowlie Primary School, Tanjong Katong Secondary School, Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia. The pair were discovered by an agent during a singing contest in 1998 and were brought to Hong Kong. They eventually signed by Universal Music.

[edit] Beginning

Although 2R is yet to achieve the level of success that others have in the beginning, they have arguably went through a much harder time. The agent who initially signed the sisters had arranged an apartment for them in Hong Kong and was able to get them a few modelling jobs but nothing substantial materialised. Meanwhile, the sisters were working on improving their Cantonese while recording their first album in the hopes of attracting more fans. However, their agent suddenly disappeared and the sisters were burdened with several months of unpaid rent and were eventually evicted. Without agent and money, the sisters turned to their parents who helped them pay off their debt and found them a new home.^{[citation needed]} Soon afterwards they were signed by Universal Music.

Although 2R usually perform together, the sisters exhibit two different styles. Rosanne the elder sister is more mature, naive and elegant, while Race is more youthful and energetic. However it is Race who has experienced the greater success with appearances in various commercials, magazine covers, and movies. In the movie Sound of Colours (地下鐵), both Rosanne and Race made cameo appearances but only Race’s scene made it to the big screen. They also starred in the Wong Jing’s movie Love Is A Many Stupid Thing (精裝追女仔2004) where Race played a major role while Rosanne’s character was limited to just a few on screen appearances. It wasn’t until Ab-normal Beauty (死亡寫真) in 2004 that both sisters played significant parts. It was followed by China's Next Top Princess (妃子笑) in 2005, and The Smiling Proud Wanderer stage performance by the Hong Kong Dance Company in 2006.

Miss Commerce Hong Kong beauty queen contestant Zhang Jing Si (張淨思) goes nude for the camera. And of course her private naked photos were leaked before the pageant forcing her to withdraw her name. This is a classic "beauty queen leaked nude pic scandal" before a contest but Zhang seem to be fighting back. The beauty wrote on her Facebook page that it was pure art and not sexually obscene claiming to be professional model who pose nude, and made public that she was open to a large range of sexy professional photos and body painting. Other racy photo album can also be found of the model in her group of portfolio photos, but they seem to have been shot in studio shooting of portraits, photographs and are professional done. But the leaked nude pictures that started the scandal seem to be less than professionally shot. Most of them seem to have been shot in a hotel room by an amateur photographer, in addition to feature the model is several revealing nude poses with her legs in the air. And are much more explicit in detail than her other works.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]The Annual Extravaganza that is the Academy Awards will take place next Monday in Los Angeles and TVB Pearl has once again won the sole broadcast rights to the show in Hong Kong. To mark the event, Tracy Ip, Janet Chow, Stephen Wong and Martin Lau took part in a special press event yesterday to promote the coverage and the related competition that is being held.

Janet indicates that she likes watching films and in the past when she was abroad, she would watch three or four movies in a week because she has a friend who works in the cinema, so she often got to watch for free. She says: "I remember in one year's Oscars, I had watched every single film that had been nominated. (How many of this years nominations have you watched?) Of course I have not seen them all, because some have not yet been released in Hong Kong."

Wearing her elegant black dress, Janet revealed that she has put on some weight on her arms and she explains that she had too much to eat over the new year. She smiles: "I had tried to lose some weight intentionally before the new year so that I could indulge myself in new year banquets and cake, so I have put on about 5 lbs, but I am holding back now, so I hope I can return to normal soon."

Tracy also appeared in a sexy black dress with a high split and revealed her rather curvy figure. She smiled when she heard this and said: "If you keep saying that you will make me blush. The dress is from the company and I have worn it once before. Maybe because it was made to measure by the wardrobe mistress, so it suits my figure very well."

Tracy says that she has eaten too much over the new year and she feels that she has put on some weight, even gaining a cup size, but she is not worried about people mistaking her for having breast enhancement because she is working every day and would not have time to go and have it done anyway. Moreover, if she did have a boob job, she would make them bigger! She says: "I feel my figure at the moment is okay and I will not worry too much about it being too thin or too fat, so I will still eat as I wish. (Your waist is still very slim though?) I have always kept it at around 25 or 26 inches, maybe the black dress gives an illusion of it being smaller." As the reporters did not believe her waist measurement, she measured it for them after the show and the result was actually 26 inches after all.
